Its here, well not really, it was here, but now its gone. A couple inches, well maybe just one.. A solid dusting to show that winter is on its way soon enough passed through the western side of New York state the other day, taking me back to the days of straight being a kid. Ahh first snow! Just the sign of it lit me up on Saturday and made the day purely awesome.
It was cool too, because I brought a couple groms out, for their first time ever snowboarding, to introduce them to something that will maybe remain with them forever. That is the stoke of completely getting out after it, even if the outlook isn’t so promising and appreciating even the little bit of what you can do with an inch of snow. Snowboarding is something that, once you have an appreciation for riding next to nothing, you can take to a whole different level when you are introduced to a place that has epic terrain. I think its important though to start where you can, when you can and find happiness in that.
So the other day for the first snow I took a couple groms with me to adventure in finding the first snow to ride. We had a success and it was a blast and the kids went back to the shop stoked on snowboarding with huge smiles on their faces. Its only the beginning of what may become a future path for these dudes and we were pumped to make that happen. Long live the pure epic power of snowboarding, even if its only an inch of snow.
